Self Portrait as a Crocodile Quilt | Alex Williamson

Alex Williamson is a graduate from Kingston University (BFA) and Glasgow School of Art (Mlitt). In his practice, Williamson combines quiltmaking techniques with painting to create something that walks the line between craft and fine art, making half jokes to allude to an unidentified malaise.

Williamson has exhibited across the UK in solo and group exhibitions, including at Transmission Gallery in Glasgow, The Number Shop in Edinburgh and The Other Art Fair at Truman Brewery in London.

This work – Self Portrait as a Crocodile Quilt – was selected to show at LARA’s Graduating in Paint, an exhibition of artists working in innovative ways across the field of painting who have graduated from art schools across the UK.
