Riccardo Matlakas is a graduate from University of Fine Art, Naples (BFA) and Oxford Brooks University (MA). He is a multi-disciplinary artist, working across painting and performance. Matlakas’ work explores the unfolding of human consciousness within the public, urban landscape.
Matlakas has exhibited and been awarded residencies internationally, and his work is held in several public collections, including at the Museum of Modern Art Odessa and the Museum of Palestine in Cape Town.
Entangled depicts two bodies entwined attempting to communicate with one another and merging into one another’s bodies.
This work was selected to show at LARA’s Graduating in Paint, an exhibition of artists working in innovative ways across the field of painting who have graduated from art schools across the UK.
