LARA is hiring! Marketing Manager

LARA is looking for a part-time Marketing Manager, available to start September 2019.

We would like to hear from applicants who have strong previous experience in marketing.

Job Description 

As Marketing Manager you will oversee all aspects of marketing LARA.

The role is essential to ensure the continued success of the school. This includes all the marketing involved in promoting LARA as a world class, and contemporary, atelier which runs a Foundation course, Diploma course, Atelier Taster Courses, Short Courses, Masterclasses and Drop-in sessions. You’ll engage with customers and receive ongoing feedback on their experience.

As Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading and developing the marketing of the school and, from time to time, you’ll be asked to provide administrative support to help develop and strengthen the business.

Your main areas of responsibility will be:

  • upkeep of the LARA website
  • upkeep of general online presence
  • engagement with new markets and building the mailing list
  • working to sell all LARA’s courses
  • helping to strengthen LARA’s community by promoting student and alumni successes, and by collaborating with other arts organisations, particularly for cross-promotion purposes

You’ll assist the Director in navigating LARA’s way forward by identifying ways to enhance existing marketing processes. For example, there is scope for the role to include some fundraising efforts towards LARA buying its own building.

Community is very important to LARA and it’s important that you are an approachable and inspiring leader, who is able to adapt to changing requirements. Our team is small so the Marketing Manager must be someone both able to take their own initiative and also to work well with others.

You will work in close partnership with LARA’s Senior Administrator and be in frequent communication with the LARA tutors.

Excellent organisational, time & diary management & planning skills

Initiative & ability to work alone, or as part of a team

Good communication skills & telephone manner

Experience in similar role essential

The capacity to identify potential problems & find solutions

Strong interpersonal skills

Adaptable, flexible & creative

Diligent and willing to learn

Good commercial awareness & customer focus

Able to react to customer & business needs, in order to achieve a mutually beneficial result

Ability to manage & deal with conflicting priorities

Required skills:

Degree or three years experience in a relevant field

Solid computer skills, experience using the G Suite,  and aptitude to learn new platforms/systems

A knowledge of, or even an admiration for, contemporary representational art and the atelier method of training would be useful but is non-essential.
