This two day course will begin with Jon demonstrating several methods of painting with palette knives, of a variety of shapes. Jon will discuss the relative merits of knives and brushes for various tasks.
Students will then set up a simple still life of two objects in order to practise these techniques. Each student will use two canvasses (or boards), one to practise making marks and the other to paint the still life. A limited palette of paints will be used to reduce the complexity of colour mixing.
This class is limited to 9 students. The workshop room is located within the main school of LARA London.
Students will taken home their quick still life painting and a good knowledge of palette knife techniques to apply in their own work. Students will also take home their practice boards for reference.
Please note that specific materials are required for this course. You will receive a complete list on application.
