Anastasia Pollard selected for the BP Portrait Award 2017
LARA tutor’s painting ‘Corinne’ to be displayed in the Award’s 38th exhibition
The BP Portrait Award Exhibition takes place every year at the National Portrait Gallery, London. Anastasia Pollard’s portrait is one of only fifty-three portraits selected, chosen from an incredible 3580 entries from 87 countries. The aim of the Award is to encourage artists over the age of eighteen to focus upon, and develop, the theme of portraiture in their work.
Anastasia demonstrates a subtle improvement in a critique of a student's work
Anastasia regularly holds Portrait Painting Masterclasses at LARA and teaches on the full-time course. Students enjoy both her expertise, which she shares generously, and her enthusiasm for portrait painting. Anastasia’s
work has been selected for previous BP Portrait Award Exhibitions, both in 2006 and 2009. She is also a member of the Royal Society of Portrait painters
and has won the Ondaatje Prize for portraiture.
The BP Portrait Award 2017 will run at the National Portrait Gallery, London, from Thursday 22nd June to Sunday 24th September.
