1st - 4th December 2015
Private View Mon 30th November | 6–9pm
Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1 Map >
More than 25 artists, all trained in the atelier style and handpicked for their creativity and vision will unveil their work at this exhibition, which will showcase how these traditional skills are relevant today.
This free exhibition will feature painters and sculptors from around the world who graduated from Ateliers and specialist workshops where they focused intensively on the technical art of representation.
The exhibition will include computer arts, pop art, sculpture, conceptual work, architecture, and photography along with painting and drawing.
In the Atelier style, mastery of the grammar of drawing is highly valued. The development of this level of skill demands from its practitioners an intensity of focus, dedication and patience. Even in today's high-speed world these qualities remain highly relevant, as demonstrated by the diversity of media used in the Exhibition.
James Napier, the Director of LARA and who conceived the exhibition, comments: “Ateliers focus on understanding how to truly observe from life and this exhibition fully illustrates what an artist can do once they have learned those skills. There is an impressive body of work within a range of forms as a result of the artists having spent serious study and time in mastering their art”.

about Feriolo, Lago Maggiore
Marc Dalessio is an American naturalistic painter who was born in Los Angeles in 1972. His foundation in fine art began at the University of California at Santa Cruz. He later trained at Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence from 1992 to 1996. His painting is an attempt at letting nature depict itself without overt interference of personality or ego. Although he recognises that this is an impossible endeavour, he still feels it's an important duty to direct a return to humility towards, reflection on, and study of, the natural world.
Marc has exhibited in the US, Croatia and UK.
